Ticklish Movie and Picklish Chicken

3 Idiots - what a movie!!! There wasn't a single scene in the movie on which you can pass on... I watched it 3 times straight... and till today I watched it seven times... Unbelievable... you have to watch it to understand what I am talking about... Anyways so that was about the ticklish movie...

Now let's talk about Picklish (is that even a word) Chicken - I mean Achari Chicken.. We had some guest over last night and I made this dish... It was instantly liked by everyone.. even Aatir... but JKhan wasn't too sure about the picklish taste of it... Well it was a successful try, if you ask me...


2 Chicken Breasts - cut in cubical pieces
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
1 tsp Coriander Seeds
1 medium onion paste
1 medium tomato paste
1/2 tblsp red chilie powder
1/2 tblsp dhaniya powder
a pinch tumeric powder
1/2 tblsp ginger-garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 small carrot - cut in slices
1 medium ginger - cut in slices
1 jalapeno pepper - cut in slices
2 jalapeno pepper - halves and sliced for filling
5 tblsp lemon juice
3 tblsp cooking oil

  1. Roast all four seeds (make sure they don't burn); grind them and make three portions
  2. Mix one portion of the roasted seeds in 3 tblsp lemon juice to make a paste
  3. Stuff in the halved jalapeno peppers with the paste and keep it aside
  4. Mix in the other portion of the roasted seeds with chicken and 1 tblsp lemon juice and keep it aside
  5. Mix in carrot, ginger and jalapeno with roasted seeds and 1 tblsp lemon juice and keep it aside
  6. Heat oil in a wok
  7. Once heated put in onion paste and fry it till golden brown
  8. Add in tomato paste and fry it till oil separates
  9. Add in all spices and fry it till oil separates
  10. Add in chicken (marinaded in step 4)
  11. Let it cook for about 5 minutes
  12. Add in carrots, ginger and jalapeno (marinaded in step 5)
  13. Let is cook till chicken is done.
  14. Garnish with stuffed jalapeno (Step 3) and coriander
  15. Serve hot with either roti or rice
  16. Enjoy
