Nimbu Pani (Lemonade)

This is a perfect drink for hot summary days that most of people are experiencing around the world. It has been very hot in our neck of the wood and no, I am not complaining at all. I love this weather. I would rather have it like this than bittersome cold and freezing weather that we get most of the year.

Nimbu (lemon) Pani (water) is a perfect drink with right amount of salt and sugar to keep you hydrated. This is a must atleast twice in a week during summer time in our household. The drink is perfect combination of sweet, sour, and hot mixture. Yes, you read it right, hot!

I normally add some crushed black peppers in the lemonade, that I make at home. The peppers give it a very different and fresh flavor to the drink. I once served it to an Algerian Brother. After drinking it he said, "You Indian people can never leave spices out of any type of food - be it a regular noodles, pasta, fruit salad (read that as Fruit Chaat), and now lemonade". Oh, how true it is. I pretty much add peppers in almost everything that I make. I think its an unconditional love that we Indians have with spices!! :)

Coming to the recipe, it is fairly simple and can be make in less than 5 minutes. I am also submitting this recipe to Iftar Moments event hosted by Ayeesha of Taste of Pearl City.

Ingredients:
  1. Two cups of Water
  2. 3-4 ice cubes
  3. Two pinch salt
  4. Three pinch black salt
  5. 1/4 tblsp black peppers
  6. Four freshly squeezed lime/lemon juice
  7. Nine tblsp sugar
Process: Place all the ingredients in a mixture/grinder and "mix" it on high for about three minutes. Serve cold in cocktail glasses to give it a classy look :)

ENJOY!!!
